What is SLOWFASHION?

Slowfashion is an aspect of sustainable fashion and a concept that describes the opposite of Fast fashion.

Slowfashion consists of the manufacture of clothing respecting people, the environment and animals.

Slow fashion Filosophy: advantages and benefits

  • Ecological and quality materials.
  • Transparency in production processes.
  • Responsible consumption.
  • More exclusive designs.

How does MIKMU participate in SLOWFASHION?

From the design to the realization of the articles, there are several factors that we take into account here at MIKMU.

  • Does the fabric have textile certifications?
  • Is the design scalable in sizes?
  • Is the final price of the product going to be affordable?

The answer is yes?

If all the previous answers (along with some more that we do when we enter into crisis) can be answered with a resounding YES, we can start with the design.

Acquisition of fabrics, realization of patterns, tests and prototypes, creation of sizes, realization of the photo session and presentation of the designs in our social networks and on the web.

The answer is no?

There are times when sustainable fabrics are not compatible with the designs we want to create. This can happen for several reasons, but the most common and the one that ends the decision is the price of the materials, which would lead to an increase in the final prices. In these cases we opt for a search for a good quality fabric but without textile certifications, which makes the fabric cheaper.

Then the steps are the same as the first case:

Acquisition of fabrics, realization of patterns, tests and prototypes, creation of sizes, realization of the photo session and presentation of the designs in our social networks and on the web.

Regardless of the fabric or materials chosen, the following steps to follow are always the same.

We wake up in the morning, train, have breakfast, shower (or shower and breakfast depending on the day) and sit in front of the computer.

We open the email, our website and look at the incoming orders and start noting:

Designs, colors and quantities.

We go to our technical file and look at what materials and in what quantity each design consumes. We make the total calculation and place the order with our supplier who will send it to us and we will have our fabrics within approximately 7 days.

In this way we only order the materials we need and not only do we not create stock of materials that we may not need in the future. If not, we also help to ensure that the cost of raw materials and the pollution of the environment do not worsen due to our help.

Once the order arrives, we get to work.

We cut all the pieces and start assembling your orders one by one.

Once ready, it’s time to pack. Of course, all beautifully packaged so that you can enjoy the experience.

We take all the boxes and take them to the shipping agency that you have selected with the delivery times that you have chosen.

All that’s left is for you to receive them and enjoy your MIKMU design as much or more than we enjoyed preparing it from scratch.
